Last Blog Entry (A Thank You)

The following web-blog was created back in September of 2008 where (after a 13 year hiatus) I took a bold leap of faith to return to college and, finally, secure that elusive Bachelor of Arts Degree from Canisius College here in good ol’ Buffalo, New York.

At the time, the course which served as the primary catalyst for this blog was a Museum Studies class led by HallWalls curator, John Massier.  The central focus was to develop within each student eyes, minds and voices suited for exhibition planning, analytical criticism, curatorship and an overall deeper understanding of the behind the scenes antics of the professional museum world.  All of which I can attest were accomplished.  (Whew!)

After successfully completing the course in December of the same year, I abandoned the blog believing that its purpose had been served.  I am quite pleased to see that my last blog entry dated as far back as November of 2008 still receives responses . . . some of which were posted as recently as this summer!! (Sweet!)

While I can make no promises that this blog will be resurrected (my plate is quite full with school, internship and family obligations), I am humbled by the fact my writing resonated with others to the point of action.  The mere notion that the words (which were never meant to impress anyone but my instructor) made individuals outside the classroom setting take time out of their busy lives to read, ponder and discuss is, in and of itself, a huge compliment!

A gesture that, in my opinion, takes precedence over whether or not you were in agreement with the sentiments expressed in the blog post.

What it all boils down to is this . . . at the end of the day all a writer ever wants is to make a connection with their readers.  Everything else is a bonus.

With that said, I thank you for reading and, more importantly, I thank you for connecting.

Be well.

Artistically Yours,
~Desiree
